DIY| Flower Headband/Crown #2♡

HEY GUYS!!!!

Welcome to the first post on afashionistasbabydoll.com!!! It has been a long time coming y'all! But it was getting out of control typing all that extra ".blogspot" stuff so I had to look out for you.

But nonetheless I have got a treat for you guys. A new simple flower headband video. Now, I know I said that my last one was easy but this one is really easy and fast. It literally didn't take longer than 25 minutes from start to finish, and about 5 of those minutes could have been avoided if you aren't anal like me haha.

The flower crown was cheap and easy to make and most of the items you probably already have at the crib girl. Take those old fake flowers lying around the house snatch them up, and get you some felt for like $1 (or for free if you have a crafty friend with kids), and a headband that fits nice but isn't tight. If you don't have a glue gun, it's an investment and you need to get your life and make that purchase. You can do so much with a glue gun, the possibilities are endless.

Any who if you want to see the whole process make sure you go to my youtube video and see what you have been missing all your life ;) . Don't forget to subscribe and like and share. Remember sharing is caring! Don't be selfish.

I thought I was being a model so here are a montage of pictures of me living out my dreams! Not to be vain or cocky but will you take a look at that melanin?! Its popping girllll!

DIY| Flower Headband (or crown) Made Easy ♡

Dollies!

I have a super cute DIY for you girlies. Its totally perfect for summer, it's a statement piece for sure. I have been wearing it everyday since I made it, I'm kind of obsessed with it. But these flower crowns have been popping up everywhere so instead of paying $15+ dollars for one I made one for less than $5. Say whaaa SAY WHAA?!?! Yes, yes I know its crazy how DIYing can save you so much money right. So I made a sweet little video for you that has some of my little tips and tricks on how to make it. Don't forget to subscribe to my Youtube channel.

Here are all the tings I used to make this little cutie!
I wanted to give you an idea of what colors of thread you can use, you can see which one I decide to go with on the video.

The flowers are from a store called "At Home" they were originally $3.99 BUT they were on sale for half off! What a steal right?! But you can get flowers from any crafty store. Then the thread came from my nana's sewing kit and the headband, which came in a two pack, is from Walmart. That's it

Question of The Day:

What's your favorite flower?
Mine are roses, any color!

Best Way to Clean and Dry Makeup Brushes! | Bonus: It Makes Cheap Brushes Last Longer♡

I'm Baccckk.

Hey Dollies. I'm sorry its been sooooo long since my last post but life got a little hectic but hey I'm back now and better than ever. Well, I'm back. Lets just leave it at that shall we. But any who lets get on to the good stuff!

One of the Ways I Clean My Brushes.

So there are a few different techniques that I use to clean my brushes but this is the way that i have been using here recently. To watch the video just click it up there or watch it here at the bottom of the screen, yeah that little box with the play button! But for my not so visual ladies and gents, no worries. I'll write it all out for you. Lets take this step by step.

Get everything you need for preparation.
Here's what you'll need, why you'll need it, helpful tips, and basically the whole procedure.
  • A bunch of dirty, approaching contamination, brushes.
    • Just kidding don't let your brushes get that dirty silly girl. You don't want them to get to a point of no return.
  • Something to separate clean verses dirty brushes, I use cute hello kitty tins that I get from Target's dollar section (aka my second home).
    • This step actually isn't super necessary but I do find it helpful because it can get kinda confusing. Its hard to tell which brush is wet when you're hands are wet, so to save the hassle separate.
  • Choose your soap wisely.
    • Now some makeup artists will tell you to get brush cleaner to clean your brushes but honestly shampoo works fine. But I wouldn't make it a super habit. I do love baby shampoo though because, as you will awkwardly see my mouth in the video, it smells like baby flesh. I love the smell of clean babies and it makes me happy when I use my freshly cleaned brushes and they smell like little humans. (I know what you're thinking, and yes its true. I am very strange)
  •  I like to have two dishes one with water and one I can put the soap it.
    • In the video I just used the top of a container that I hold lip products in for water (its pretty shallow and long) and the top of the shampoo bottle for the soap.
    • The reason I have a dish is because it can get pretty time consuming and you don't want to waste a bunch of money and precious water on this.
    • To take it one step closer to saving the planet you can have a separate container with clean water. But I just wait to clean all the soap out at once.
  •  (This is where this gets fun) Time for tape
    • The tape you see in the video isn't the normal kind of tape that I like to use. I usually go for the cloth surgical tape. What I have in the video is clean plastic surgical tape. It was actually a trial run with this tape and as you can see... yeah I'm gonna stick to what I know, aka cloth surgical tape.
    • But one thing that I noticed about this was that this tape didn't hold as well as the other tape and it left a little residue which the other one didn't. Residue comes off easy but who wants the extra step if they don't have to have it? Not I. #QueenLazyLai
    • Another reason I looove this tape is because it won't peel off the paint on the wall. I used electrical tape once, literally ripped the dry wall off the wall. You've been warned. The key is if its gentle on the skin it'll be gentle to the brushes and wall.
  • Tape preparation and application
    • This is literally so simple but it isn't easily described in words. But basically you want to take the brushes and make sure that the brushes are compact and the hairs aren't going wild. This step it the MOST IMPORTANT! If you leave the brushes to dry all wonky they will stay that way and its much harder to blend with a brush that looks like its throwing gang signs.
    • Once you have the all bristle compact take them and tape them to the wall UPSIDE DOWN. This is crucial, pay attention ladies, this is what is going to make your cheap brushes last longer. Some of the ways that companies cut back on their prices is by cutting corners in the glue department. But hanging them upside down on your wall you are limiting the amount of water that seeps down into when there glue is and slows down the breaking down of the glue making the hairs stay in place and give the brush a longer shelf life. That was kind of a mouthful but trust me, mama dollie wouldn't steer you wrong. This is THE BEST WAY TO DRY YOUR BRUSHES.
    • You're gonna have to look at the video to see exactly how I place them because once again its not the easiest thing to put into words. When you take them make sure you keep them about fingers length apart from one another, and reinforce the ends.
    • To save time I usually take one big strip but I also do individuals with the tape ripped in half.
    • As you'll see in the video, on some strips of tape I put them on my arm first to get rid of some of the stickiness, again this was just something I did because I wasn't used to this kind of tape. Not that necessary, but it doesn't get the residue off of the brushes.

Question of The Day:

What are some beauty tips you do with your brushes?

How To | Cleaning Jean Stains off a Faux Leather Purse/Bag ♡

Dollies !

This is literally my favorite video Ive ever edited! It's so interactive and fuuuun ! You have to watch it.

I'm teaching you guys how to clean, well showing you how I cleaned, my faux leather purse from Bebe! Its their Ruby Wave Tote, http://ow.ly/C8xQw . Its so big and hold all of the things I could ever need and then some.

When I say I am in love with this purse... I'M IN LOVE. She's a beauty *insert heart eyes* !

Someone let me know when they change the game and let you start adding emoji's to blogger. I swear y'all aren't even ready for my emoji game haha.

Lets get started!

Things you'll need:
  • Alcohol (rubbing, if you use drink result may vary lol)
  • Cotton pads, or any cotton in the shape of a flat panel
  • Water aka H20 for my scientific dollies out there!
How to:
  1. apply a little of the alcohol to your cotton device
  2. dilute it with some water
  3. squeeze out the excess water
  4. then gently, GENTLY, with a light hand wipe away the dirty looking jean stains.

My purse literally looks like a new purse, its bright and vibrant and I didn't even have to buy anything. It was all stuff that I already had!

So I hope you enjoyed that super fast tutorial/lesson on how I cleaned my purse.

Please please please watch the video and also check out the video I posted from last weeks blog post, http://youtu.be/M-a920F2IHg, it was my one year blogiversary.
